HI Heatherann,
Congradulations on your wedding/honeymoon. To anwer your question, yes, most booked and bought travel is charged on a credit or debit card, however, if you were taking a cruise, then you would have the option of paying all at once or making installments, but airline tickets, hotels, etc; are always paid up front. If you are looking to book an all-inclusive trip to Cozumel, here is where to book it or if you have questions email me personally. I hope you enjoy yourself!!

most travel sites require payment up front on somekind of major credit or debit card. so the only payment options would be with your credit card company. i would start with priceline.com. they are my favorite and always have a pretty good deal. so do expedia.com, hotwire.com and travelocity.com. just look around a lot before you book. do your research on the hotels you plan to book. look for customer reviews, not just the website reviews. i would suggest researching the hotel outside of the travel site as well.

i also suggest paying for the extra travel insurance and/or cancellation insurance. you never know what may happen down the road. and i am in no way saying you need to have second thoughts about the wedding or honeymoon. i am just saying that loved ones die, family emergencies happen, and crisis that would be worth missing your honeymoon cannot be planned for. you never know what could happen 6 or more months from now. trust me, it is worth the extra 50-150 dollars for the travel insurance. that way if the unthinkable does happen, you won't have wasted 3,000 dollars on a trip you never got to enjoy.

good luck! congratulations on the wedding. and if you really want some help with it, consult a travel agent.

Caffeinated Content

for mexico...check out
go to the riveria maya section... several hot deals on now
"ocean coral and turquesa" in Puerto Morelas is about $170/night per couple all inclusive.

dominican republic. Punta Cana. Barcelo beach resort. $150 per couple per night all inclusive.

been to both places. both are great.

either case airfare will probably be really expensive. unless you drive to Minneapolis St Paul. In which case travelocity has a flight for $549 each to punta cana and $403 to cancun for that time frame... better hurry...

and fyi, if I remember correctly the is about a $40 landing tax that you have to pay in cash when you land in PUJ if you decide to go there...the Cancun landing fee of $96 is included in the ticket price..

Very good question.

There are 2 categories..

1. Book well ahead. That way you get precisely the resort and departure dates that you need to have or want.

2. Last minute, which you guys are. The way the thing works is that the agent/carrier/hotel have those airplane seats and hotel rooms empty until someone buys them. When that plane takes off with an empty seat, they have made zero.
They would rather make something than nothing. So later is better in this game, but your choices of resorts and departure dates will be very limited. If you have that flexibility, then go ahead and do the absolute last minute thing.
It would help if you have done all your research, so that you will recognize a bargain if you see it.

Good luck, go find that deal.

I go to Cancun very often I have never seen bad guys or had spicy foods.
My favorite food is Mexican. I do not eat "chile" and I always have wonderful meals. Not all the Mexican food is spicy.
There are hundreds of wonderful restaurants where you will enjoy local meals.
Don´t forget to swim with dolphins and go snorkeling near Isla Mujeres (Women Island, next to Cancun). Also take your mom for her birthday to snorkel to the underground caves called Cenotes and visit the Xcaret Ecological Park.
So much fun, lots of things to do....
Have a wonderful trip and hope your mom will have a wonderful time there.

I guess the answer to this question depends on mainly your finances. What are you able to afford? Then again, if your even suggesting cruises then you have a bit of money to work with. Here is a cheaper suggestion:

Bell Witch cave: located off of Highway 41 North in Adams, Tennessee.

430 Keysburg Road

The cave can be found by turning right after the Bell School and taking Keysburg Rd. until you see the sign for the cave.

Or by turning left just after the store, if you are coming from the North side of town.

About weather, check before you leave. You can just google "cancun weather". Right now, it has highs of 90 with lows of 75.

If you're planning on staying at the resort most of the time, I'd imagine that you won't get many chances to sample a lot of different types of food. At these resorts, choices are usually on the safer (blander) side. If you want to try something a little more interesting, go to Labna or La Habichuela in downtown Cancun. It is an easy cab ride away. Cancun is a 'free port', which means that there's a lot of duty free shops. La Isla and Plaza Caracol are the nicest shopping centers.

Cancun is generally a safe place, just general precautions should be enough. Have fun!

There's really not much to do to prepare, just be ready for an excellent vacaton in a warm tropical place. You do not need to be concerened about any bad people, just use your common sense and you'll be fine. As far as the food, at most AI resorts, they prepare the food to be mostly neutral in spice and flavor. Therefore, the only thing you really need to know is that even though the water is purified, there are still microrganisms that as northerners, we are not used to. Therefore, you should try to eat yogurt every day to help your digestive system stay regular. If you are concerened about your reaction to the rich foods and the water, there's something more you can do. I recommend you investigate a natural product that does the same thing for your body that yogurt does, it's called Acidophilus. You can find it at most health food stores, it comes in pill form, and really does the trick for traveler's stomach. The final thing to look out for is when you book a tour, make sure that they offer a cancelation and rescheduling policy. Most of the travel agents at the resorts do not offer this option. Therefore, if you do a little homework and book your tours online before you travel, you can not only find these features but lower prices as well. I recommend you find Entertainment Plus or Cancun Valet and see what they offer, read the fine print and either get the tours now or later, whichever is more convenient for you.

Have fun planning your vacation in paradise,

Dee

Wow you have a laundry list of questions don't you?

Did you not do any research on Cancun before you booked this vacation?

The weather in Cancun this time of year is highs around 86 and lows around 72, mainly sunny, but with building clouds. As to the food, it's Mexican what more do you need to know, but you can also get typical American fare if you are in a resort, but why go to Mexico and not try the local food, it really is very good and not everything is spicey. I don't know where you live in the US, but trust me the "Bad Guys" are no worse in Cancun than anywhere in the US so just use some common sense and you will be fine.

Enjoy the vacation.
