Honeymoon Options and Opinions?
callmefunkelberry asked:
We are going to Vegas August 2008 to get married. Our honeymoon options so far are: Drive up the West coast of California for 7 -10 days, or take a cruise of the Mexican Riveria or Hawaii. We originally wanted to go to an all inclusive resort but thought that at that time of year it would be incredibly hot wherever we went. We did look into Tahiti and Fiji but the trip would be too much. Looking at $1800 to$ 2500 each person (honeymoon cost). Any ideas or experiences? Really heavily leaning toward taking a cruise but would like to hear some shared experiences good and bad. Thanks in advanced.

Drive from Vegas to California, ( I live in Cali), there is so much for new lovers to do here such as the beach (totally free) wine tasting tours (in the off season like now can be pretty inexpensive) horese back riding, balloon rides, go towards Los Angeles and catch a boat to Catalina Island, etc.. and there are so many great places to eat and just relax together. If you can squeeze the Mexican Riviera cruise into this, the tickets are usally $300-$400 per person for a 4 day 3 night cruise, and I highly recommend it. My husband and I got married 3 years ago and we were hitched in Vegas, then came back to Cali and spent our honeymoon at Catalina Island. I strongly recommend it especially this time of year, it’s not too cold but just enough to keep everyone else away so you have the entire place to yourselves. Stay at the Snug Harbor Inn, google it and you can find packages that include massages, dinner, tours, and everything. Good luck and congrats!
P.S. Hawaii is SO overrated. Don’t waste your time. Cruises are great but the cabins are not that comfortable and can be kind of small. Try Carnival if you are going to take a cruise. They are the best.

Go with the cruise. Its your honeymoon, you should be spending time enjoying each other, not taking turns driving. The cruise will allow you to relax and spend quality time with each other. Do not cruise carnival, the service is not good, neither are their ships. Go with royal caribbean or NCl, Mexico or Hawaii are both good choices.
