In fact, most places won't even accept college-aged guests without someone over 25 in the room. Get your parents to travel with you and you'll be fine. The legal age in Mexico is 18, so if you went while you were 16, you would still be considered a child. That way, if you went when you were 18, all your decisions would be taken into account.
