What are some good places to Honeymoon?
Jabberwokee asked:
We’re planning on getting married next April and we’re looking for a place to go on Honeymoon. Ideally we want to go to Hawaii but we’re also looking for something that’s all inclusive. I’d like a place that’s at least somewhat tropical with great scenery and laid back. Our ideas are Hawaii, Costa Rica, Jamaica and the Florida Keys. Are there other places worth looking into that aren’t often thought of?

Not Jamaica, you will have to stay on your resort. Its not safe to wander. I would choose, Cabo mexico is cheap and beautiful and safe, Florida Keys very nice, Hawaii is expensive but beautiful, I personally didn’t like the food. Costa Rica is beautiful, some areas that are dangerous. Hope this helps. I would go to Thailand if I could go anywhere. You can rent a house for $2 or $10 (WHATEVER ITS CHEAP )a day, they have lagoons, monkeys, elephants, the people are super friendly, and its not that touristy. My friends lived there and loved it!

Well Hawaii and Florida Keys are both beautiful but you’re probably not going to find a place thats all inclusive. I’ve yet to find a place in the US that offers all inclusive packages. I would say anywhere down in the Caribbean would be beautiful that time of year. My husband and I went to the Bahamas and loved it. And I had friends that went to Jamaica and loved it (they stayed at a Sandals resort). Although Jamaica is a pretty tough place and you won’t want to leave the resort if you go there. Another suggestion would be the Virgin Islands. They are gorgeous and there are three different island that offer three different experienes, and its very easy to island hop. One island is a lot shopping, the other recreation, and the other has a great night life.
DEFINITELY GO WITH ALL INCLUSIVE THOUGH! You won’t regret it =) And if you are leaving the country, apply for your passport right away if you don’t already have one!

Thailand
But you cant rent a house for $2 a day. The cheapest place Ive stayed was $2 a day and it was a hostel off khao san road in bangkok (very dirty and polluted area, horrible room, not fit for a honeymoon). A house rental would be about $10 a day in the cheapest areas, about $20 a day on the beach. But credit to the person who mentioned it, its a great place, I stayed for 6 months last year.

Aruba is where my husband and I went for ours. We had a great time. The beach and water are beautiful.
I’ve heard great things about St. Lucia so that is definitely an island I want to go to.
edit: I’ve been to Jamaica. It’s true that it’s not safe to wander. It is safe to wander in Aruba. My husband and I did so without any trouble. Wear sunscreen if you choose Aruba because the sun is quite intense there. I wasn’t impressed with the beach in Jamaica. I loved the water but the beach was a bit rocky. So if you pick Jamaica then be sure to bring flip flops for walking on the beach. The sand is soft in Aruba.

we are going to Jamaica, the resort we are staying in is called Rose Hall, it can be all inclusive if you want it to be. Hawaii is amazing but expensive. we looked in the the Keys but we want something more tropical.

We did a cruise to the bahamas and it was amazing! you have a private room the whole time but can still go out and play on the ship. Plus you can have all your meals brought to your room whenever you want. Cruising is the way to go. You don’t have to get a hotel, rental car, and the food is all you can eat! Plus you get to see 3 or 4 awesome places rather than just one. I’d definately recommend a cruise to anyone.

I think Hawaii would be the best choice at that time. Enjoy your honeymoon and never regret what you should have done and wish you would have done. I went to Niagara Falls and wish that I would have gone to one the exciting places that you mentioned. Timing and weather should be considered.

I recently searched for info on Panama resorts and was impressed as it’s not so popular yet as Costa Rica yet truly beautiful with many islands and stunning mountain spots, and Then there are the Seychelles and Maldives, as well as Fiji. I have been to Kauai, north shore, and the beaches are amazing, but you may prefer big resorts on east shore.
My personal favorite is Puerto Vallarta, Mex. although I haven’t been there for a long time. People rave about Paradise Island in Bahamas, and also Mazatlan, Mex.

Look at St. Lucia and Cancun, Mexico. Both places have all inclusive resorts.

El Cozumelino in Cozumel Mexico. That is where we honeymooned at. They are all inclusive, even room service & some activities are included.
We loved it, it was not super expensive & they are very accomidating. I oculd not have asked for a better expereince! We are planning a second trip!
If you go, email me & I can give you some super tips on places to visit on the Island.

We went to the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
In April, the weather will be nice, not 90 degrees, but nice and there is plenty to do….it is very historic down there…from lighthouses, shipwrecks to wild horses.
we rented a private beach house…at that time of year they will be super CHEAP! not to mention, there will be no one down there to bother you!
